You really can inhale a novel idea, especially if the novel involves dust and you stand in the middle of a dust storm. It’s quite the experience.
Writing the weather into a setting–creating an atmosphere–is not that difficult, but you can screw it up. Keep in mind that there are readers out there who have studied meteorology for years, and like anything, the genius is in the details.
Let’s get crazy.
Action: 5 – There is some movement and exploring happening, but it is slow-paced and not very intense. Reasoning: The passage describes the daily routine of Kaius and his scouts as they search for something of value. There are a few moments of movement, such as when they climb hills and finally discover the Stinky Sea, but overall the action is not very fast-paced or thrilling.
